It’s a grilled avocado and charcoal eel sushi roll topped with slightly torched salmon and Japanese mayonnaise – it’s lethal. The smokiness, the buttery avocado and the tang of the Japanese mayonnaise makes it an intoxicating combination. It’s a small restaurant but there is ample seating, including a sushi bar that gives you front row seats to the culinary action. They also have normal table seating which can seat about 50 of us, some by the window overlooking Orchard Road. Koh Grill & Sushi Bar serves an extensive menu of sashimi, maki, handrolls, grilled items, noodle and rice dishes. There’s something for everyone and it can be a bit overwhelming if you’re not prepared. They also have a selection of hot and cold beverages. There’s even a decent selection of wine and sake! A must-try item is their pitan tofu – the sauce is smooth and sweet. It’s also one of the better ones I’ve tried so far – it’s less oily than most and doesn’t have that “sulphur and ammonia” taste that some places give you. FAQ Located inside Food Republic food court at level 4 of Wisma Atria Shopping Centre is Koh Grill & Sushi Bar, a fun and cheerful Japanese restaurant most famous for their Shiok Maki. They offer a wide range of Japanese fare with prices that are wallet friendly but not cheap. The food is fresh and delicious, especially the sashimi and their grilled dishes, like their Unagi Kabayaki. However, the service can be brusque and slow. They also discriminate against solo diners and ask them to wait until a table is available. This is a shame. They should change their policy. Voyage back to the home page Uncategorized
